◆ OUR SERVICES / CARDIOVASCULAR LONGEVITY ASSESSMENT

Know your true cardiovascular age — then change it.

Your cardiovascular system ages at its own pace — and that pace can be measured, understood, and changed. Our Cardiovascular Longevity Assessment reveals how your heart and arteries are truly aging, identifies the hidden drivers accelerating that process, and creates a precision roadmap to protect your vitality for the decades ahead.

Know your true cardiovascular age — then change it

Here’s something most people have never been told: the age on your driver’s license has very little to do with the age of your cardiovascular system. Two people born in the same year can have arteries that are decades apart in biological age — one with the vascular health of someone much younger, the other carrying the burden of someone much older.

This difference isn’t random. It’s the result of how inflammation, metabolic health, oxidative stress, hormonal balance, sleep, toxic burden, and lifestyle have interacted with your unique genetics over time. And the remarkable thing is that once you can see your true cardiovascular age, you can start to change it — adding not just years to your life, but life to your years.

Two people of the same chronological age can have a cardiovascular age that differs by 20 years or more. The difference is modifiable — once you measure it. Vascular-age research

Why standard testing misses the bigger picture

In conventional medicine, cardiovascular “prevention” often means checking a few basic numbers once a year — total cholesterol, blood pressure, fasting glucose — and hoping for the best. If those look acceptable, you’re told you’re fine. Come back next year.

But those markers only scratch the surface. They don’t tell you whether plaque is already forming in your arteries, how stiff or inflamed your blood vessels have become, or the state of your metabolic flexibility and endothelial function. Standard testing is like looking at a single snapshot of your house from the street and concluding the foundation is solid. A true longevity assessment is like having an engineer inspect every structural element — and show you exactly where problems are developing before anything collapses.

When you want answers, not just reassurance

Many patients who come to us for longevity assessment aren’t in crisis. They’re thoughtful, proactive people who sense that standard care isn’t giving them the full picture. Maybe they’ve watched a parent struggle with heart disease and want to understand their own risk. Maybe they’ve hit a milestone birthday and want to know where they really stand. Or maybe their labs look “normal” year after year, but something doesn’t feel right — energy declining, stamina fading — and they want someone to take those observations seriously.

We built this assessment for people who want data, not platitudes — who understand that protecting your cardiovascular system is one of the most valuable investments you can make in your future.

WHAT WE ASSESS

Comprehensive by design.

We measure multiple dimensions of cardiovascular health to understand not just where you are today, but the trajectory you’re on — and how to change it. Far beyond a standard checkup, integrating advanced imaging, precision biomarkers, functional testing, and genetic insights.

01

Vascular Age & Arterial Health

Using advanced imaging such as carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) and coronary artery calcium scoring, we assess the structural age of your arteries and detect early plaque formation that standard tests miss entirely.

02

Arterial Stiffness & Endothelial Function

The health of your endothelium — the inner lining of your blood vessels — determines how well your arteries dilate, regulate blood pressure, and resist plaque. We evaluate endothelial function and arterial compliance at the cellular level.

03

Cardiopulmonary Fitness (VO2 Max)

Your maximal oxygen uptake is one of the strongest predictors of cardiovascular longevity and all-cause mortality. We assess your VO2 max to understand your functional reserve and guide exercise prescription for optimal heart health.

04

Advanced Lipid & Inflammatory Biomarkers

Standard cholesterol panels tell only part of the story. Through our HeartWell Toolkit™ we measure particle size and number, oxidized LDL, Lp(a), inflammatory markers like hsCRP and Lp-PLA2, and metabolic indicators that reveal the true drivers of your risk.

05

Metabolic & Insulin Signaling

Insulin resistance accelerates vascular aging faster than almost any other factor. We evaluate fasting insulin, glucose variability, HOMA-IR, and related markers to understand how your metabolic health is shaping your cardiovascular trajectory.

06

Hormonal Balance

Hormonal shifts during perimenopause, menopause, and andropause have profound effects on cardiovascular aging. We assess thyroid function, cortisol rhythms, sex hormones, and their interplay with vascular health to identify hormonal contributors.

We also evaluate

  • Genetic & epigenetic factors: how you metabolize cholesterol, clear toxins, regulate inflammation, and respond to lifestyle — so your longevity strategy is personalized to your biological blueprint.
  • Oxidative stress & detoxification capacity: markers of oxidative damage and the health of your detox pathways, to see whether toxic burden is accelerating arterial aging.
  • Autonomic nervous system function: heart rate variability and autonomic balance, reflecting the resilience of your cardiovascular system and its ability to adapt to stress.

What the assessment reveals

When the assessment is complete, you’ll have a clear, data-driven picture of your cardiovascular age — how your heart and arteries are aging compared to your chronological age. But more importantly, you’ll understand why: the specific factors accelerating your vascular aging, whether inflammation, metabolic dysfunction, hormonal imbalance, oxidative stress, poor fitness, genetic predisposition, or a combination — and crucially, which of those factors are modifiable.

This isn’t about generating fear or selling unnecessary treatments. It’s about giving you the information you need to make informed decisions — and the confidence that comes from knowing exactly where you stand.

Building your cardiovascular longevity plan

Based on your results, we build a personalized strategy within the Fit in Your GENES® framework — designed to slow, halt, or even reverse the biological aging of your cardiovascular system by addressing the root causes we’ve identified:

  • Targeted nutrition for vascular protection — anti-inflammatory, endothelium-supportive strategies tailored to your metabolic profile and genetics.
  • Exercise prescription for cardiovascular fitness — personalized movement to improve VO2 max, preserve muscle, and strengthen your reserve.
  • Metabolic optimization — restoring insulin sensitivity and shifting metabolism from aging mode to repair mode.
  • Hormonal balancing when indicated — evidence-based optimization with appropriate monitoring.
  • Nutraceutical & supplement support — targeted to your biomarker profile.
  • Stress & sleep optimization — nervous-system regulation that directly impacts cardiovascular aging and recovery.
  • Ongoing monitoring & plan refinement — repeat assessments and biomarker tracking so your plan evolves as your body responds.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Cardiovascular longevity, answered.

01 What does “cardiovascular age” actually mean? +
Your cardiovascular age reflects how old your heart and blood vessels are functioning compared to population averages. Someone chronologically 55 might have the vascular health of a typical 45-year-old — or a typical 70-year-old. This biological age is determined by arterial stiffness, plaque burden, endothelial function, fitness level, and metabolic health, and gives a far more accurate picture of your true risk than chronological age alone.
02 Can cardiovascular aging actually be reversed, or just slowed? +
Research increasingly supports that certain aspects can be reversed — not just slowed. Arterial stiffness can improve. Endothelial function can be restored. Plaque can stabilize and, in some cases, regress. VO2 max can increase at any age with appropriate training. The degree of reversibility depends on where you’re starting, how aggressively you intervene, and how consistently you follow through. Our goal is to push your trajectory in the right direction as far as your biology allows.
03 How is this different from an annual physical or standard cardiac workup? +
Standard annual exams check basic vital signs and a limited set of lab values — designed to detect disease that’s already present, not the processes driving it. Our assessment uses advanced imaging, precision biomarkers, functional testing, and genetic analysis to reveal what’s happening beneath the surface, often years or decades before standard testing would detect a problem. It’s the difference between early warning and late detection.
04 I feel healthy — do I really need this level of assessment? +
Cardiovascular disease develops silently over years or decades before symptoms appear — many heart attacks and strokes occur in people who felt perfectly healthy the day before. The value of this assessment is precisely that it catches problems early, when they’re most treatable and often fully reversible. If you’re already healthy, it can confirm that and give you peace of mind. If hidden issues are developing, you’ll have the opportunity to address them before they become serious.
05 How often should the assessment be repeated? +
We typically recommend a comprehensive reassessment every one to two years, depending on your baseline findings and how actively you’re implementing your plan. Certain markers — like blood biomarkers and functional fitness measures — may be monitored more frequently to track progress. The goal is enough data points over time to see your trajectory clearly and adjust accordingly.
06 How does this connect to the Fit in Your GENES® program? +
The Cardiovascular Longevity Assessment provides the diagnostic foundation for the Fit in Your GENES® program. The assessment identifies where you stand and what’s driving your cardiovascular aging; the Fit in Your GENES® program provides the ongoing structure, support, and monitoring to implement and sustain your longevity strategy over time. They work together as a comprehensive approach to optimizing your cardiovascular healthspan.
