◆ OUR SERVICES / WEIGHT MANAGEMENT

Weight management through root-cause medicine.

Sustainable weight management starts with understanding what your body actually needs — not another restrictive diet. We use precision diagnostics and integrative cardiology to uncover the metabolic, hormonal, and inflammatory drivers behind stubborn weight gain, focusing on body recomposition, metabolic flexibility, and long-term cardiovascular health — so you lose fat, preserve muscle, and protect your heart.

Weight management through root cause medicine

If you’ve been cutting calories, fasting longer, exercising harder — and the scale still won’t budge — we want you to know something important: this is not a failure of willpower. It’s a sign that something deeper is driving the problem.

Most conventional weight loss approaches treat the symptom — excess weight — without ever asking why your body is holding on to it. They focus on calories in and calories out, hand you a prescription or a generic meal plan, and send you on your way. But your body is far more complex than a simple equation. Stubborn weight gain is almost always a downstream effect of something else — insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, hormonal shifts, stress chemistry, poor sleep, or even toxic burden. Until those drivers are addressed, no amount of dieting or exercise will produce lasting results.

For every 2.2 lb of fat lost, systolic blood pressure drops by about 1 mmHg — and preserving lean muscle makes that improvement even more powerful and sustainable. Body-composition research

The weight-heart connection most doctors miss

Here’s what makes our approach fundamentally different: we understand that weight management and heart health are deeply interconnected — and we treat them together. Excess visceral fat — the dangerous fat that wraps around your organs — isn’t just a cosmetic concern. It’s an active endocrine organ that drives inflammation, worsens insulin resistance, raises blood pressure, disrupts cholesterol metabolism, and accelerates vascular aging.

Yet most weight loss programs ignore the cardiovascular implications entirely. They focus on the number on the scale without considering what’s happening to your arteries, your metabolic signaling, or your long-term disease risk. That’s a critical oversight — especially in midlife, when hormonal changes, metabolic shifts, and cardiovascular risk factors all converge.

We understand the frustration

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re in the right place:

  • You’ve tried multiple diets, programs, or medications and the weight keeps coming back
  • You’re eating clean and exercising regularly but your body composition isn’t changing — or it’s getting worse
  • Your doctor tells you to “just lose weight” without offering a real strategy for how
  • You’re exhausted, foggy, and frustrated — doing everything “right” but feeling worse
  • You’re worried about your heart health, blood pressure, or cholesterol — and you sense the weight is connected
  • You’ve been told your labs are “normal” even though you clearly don’t feel normal

These are not signs that you need more discipline. They’re signs that your body needs a different kind of support — one that addresses the root cause, not just the symptom. We don’t push harder. We listen to your body. This is the foundation of the Fit in Your GENES® program.

WHAT WE MEASURE — AND WHY IT MATTERS

We go far beyond the scale.

Our diagnostic workup is designed to uncover the specific metabolic, hormonal, and inflammatory patterns driving your weight and cardiovascular risk — so we can build a plan around your actual biology, not a generic protocol that treats everyone the same way.

01

Insulin & Blood Sugar Dynamics

Fasting insulin, glucose, HbA1c, and insulin-resistance markers that reveal whether your metabolism is stuck in storage mode — long before standard glucose testing would flag it.

02

Cortisol Rhythm & Adrenal Function

Chronic stress doesn’t just make you feel tired — it actively promotes fat storage and muscle breakdown. We assess the daily cortisol curve to find this often-hidden driver.

03

Hormonal Assessment

Thyroid function, sex hormones, and metabolic hormones that directly influence body composition, energy, and appetite — frequently the hidden catalyst behind midlife weight change.

04

Advanced Lipid & Inflammatory Markers

Visceral fat drives a specific pattern of cardiovascular inflammation that standard panels miss. We use precision testing to capture it.

05

Body Composition Analysis

Measuring muscle mass versus visceral fat so we can track real changes in your metabolic health — not just a number on a scale. Preserving muscle is the goal, not just losing pounds.

06

Genetic & Epigenetic Testing

Through the HeartWell Toolkit™, we assess predispositions that affect how your body processes fat, absorbs cholesterol, and responds to different nutritional strategies — so your plan fits your biology.

We also evaluate

  • Nutrient status & gut health: deficiencies in key micronutrients and imbalances in your microbiome directly affect metabolism, cravings, and inflammation — an essential and frequently overlooked piece of the weight-management picture.
HOW WE HELP YOU TRANSFORM — SAFELY & SUSTAINABLY

Built in tiers, around your biology.

Our plans start with the most evidence-supported foundations and add targeted interventions based on your unique needs and goals — always through a cardiovascular safety lens.

FOUNDATION

Metabolic Restoration

Restoring your body’s ability to efficiently switch between fuel sources — through nutrient-dense meals that stabilize blood sugar, intelligent meal/movement timing aligned with your circadian rhythm, and gentle resistance training to preserve and build lean muscle.

REBALANCE

Hormonal Rebalancing

When clinically indicated, we support hormonal health with cardiovascular safety as the priority — understanding how hormonal changes affect your arteries, lipid metabolism, and vascular age, not just your waistline.

SUPPORT

Targeted Nutritional Support

Precision supplementation guided by your labs, genetics, and clinical presentation — plus nutritional counseling to build sustainable eating patterns that support both weight management and heart health.

COOL THE FIRE

Inflammation & Stress Management

Identifying and addressing the sources of chronic, low-grade inflammation — insulin resistance, poor sleep, toxic burden, gut dysfunction, stress — with nervous-system regulation through breathwork, sleep, and cortisol management.

WHEN APPROPRIATE

Medical Weight Loss Support

For appropriate candidates, evidence-based medical weight loss support is integrated thoughtfully alongside metabolic, nutritional, and lifestyle interventions — never as a standalone solution — with ongoing cardiovascular monitoring. Microdosing is our preferred route, and we use tirzepatide preferentially. The goal is never just to lower a number on the scale — it’s to improve metabolic health, protect your arteries, and help you feel strong and energized.

Safe, evidence-based & cardiologist-led.

Our program is designed and supervised by a board-certified integrative cardiologist — meaning every recommendation, from nutrition and supplementation to exercise programming and medical interventions, is evaluated through a cardiovascular safety lens. We monitor your progress using objective markers including body composition, metabolic labs, inflammatory indicators, and vascular health assessments, and we collaborate with your primary care physician and other specialists as needed.

And we never use a one-size-fits-all protocol. If you’re offered the exact same plan as everyone else, that’s a red flag. Our plans are built for your biology, your goals, and your life.

The real outcome
Our patients don’t just lose weight — they measurably improve their cardiovascular risk profile in the process. Strategic body recomposition (losing visceral fat, preserving lean muscle) protects the heart in a way the scale alone never captures.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Weight & your heart, answered.

01 How is this different from a regular weight loss program? +
Most weight loss programs focus on calories, restriction, or a single medication without investigating what’s actually driving the problem. We take a root-cause approach — using advanced diagnostics to understand your unique metabolic, hormonal, and inflammatory profile — and build your plan around those findings. Because this program is led by a cardiologist, we also monitor and protect your cardiovascular health throughout the process, which most weight loss programs simply don’t do.
02 Do you prescribe weight loss medications like semaglutide or tirzepatide? +
We may use evidence-based medical weight loss support for appropriate candidates, but medication is never the entire plan. When prescribed, it’s integrated into a comprehensive program that includes metabolic testing, nutritional guidance, lifestyle support, and ongoing cardiovascular monitoring. Microdosing is our preferred route, and we use tirzepatide preferentially. Our goal is to address the root causes of weight gain so any medication serves as a catalyst for lasting change — not a permanent crutch.
03 I’ve been told to lose weight but my doctor hasn’t told me how. Can you help? +
Absolutely. This is one of the most common frustrations we hear from patients. Being told to “just lose weight” without a real strategy is not helpful — and it ignores the fact that there are specific, measurable reasons why your body isn’t responding. We start with a thorough evaluation to understand those reasons, then create a clear, personalized action plan that gives you real direction and support.
04 Why does a cardiologist offer weight management? +
Because weight, metabolism, and heart health are inseparable. Excess visceral fat drives inflammation, insulin resistance, hypertension, and dyslipidemia — all of which accelerate cardiovascular disease. As cardiologists, we understand these connections at a deeper level than most providers, and we can monitor the impact of weight changes on your vascular health in real time. Our patients don’t just lose weight — they measurably improve their cardiovascular risk profile in the process.
05 How long does it take to see results? +
Many patients notice improvements in energy, sleep, and how they feel within the first few weeks. Measurable changes in body composition, lab values, and cardiovascular markers typically emerge within three to six months, depending on your starting point and the complexity of your metabolic picture. This is a sustainable, long-term approach — not a quick fix.
06 Is this program available virtually? +
Yes. We offer virtual consultations and can coordinate many aspects of testing and care remotely. During your initial discovery call, we’ll discuss the best approach for your situation and location.
