◆ THE JOURNEY · STEP 01 OF 03

Most patients leave their first cardiology visit with more questions than answers. We change that.

Your Step 1 Explore visit is where your HHC journey begins. In a private physician consultation with Dr. Druz, we review your complete medical history, prior test results, current medications and supplements, and nutritional patterns — then map your personalized cardiovascular risk profile. Most patients complete a HeartWell Toolkit at-home blood and genetic test before this visit so that Dr. Druz can review your results in real time and build your care plan around actual data from day one.

The integrative cardiology journey

Your Step 1 Explore visit is where your HHC journey begins. In a private physician consultation with Dr. Druz, we review your complete medical history, prior test results, current medications and supplements, and nutritional patterns — then map your personalized cardiovascular risk profile.

Most patients complete a HeartWell Toolkit at-home blood and genetic test before this visit so that Dr. Druz can review your results in real time and build your care plan around actual data from day one.

Your first step is a real consultation — not an intake form

At Holistic Heart Centers, your first step isn't a 10-minute intake form — it's a thorough physician consultation designed to give both you and Dr. Druz a complete picture of where your cardiovascular health stands and why. We review your entire medical history, family history, prior cardiac tests and imaging, current medications and supplements, and your nutritional patterns — all in one focused, personalized visit.

We strongly recommend completing a HeartWell Toolkit at-home test before your Step 1 visit. These at-home blood and genetic kits — using a simple fingerstick sample and saliva collection — give us advanced lipid profiles, inflammatory markers, metabolic indicators, and genetic risk factors before your consultation begins. When the data is ready when you walk in, Dr. Druz can review your results in real time and build your care plan around actual numbers from day one.

WHAT COMES NEXT

What comes next

After your Step 1 consultation, your care plan will outline whether Step 2: Deep-Dive diagnostic testing is recommended — and which specific tests are most relevant for your profile. Most patients move into advanced laboratory testing and targeted cardiac imaging. Some patients move directly to Step 3: Engage if their history and prior testing already provide sufficient data.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Step 1, answered.

01Do I need a referral to book a Step 1 visit?+
No referral is required. Dr. Druz accepts self-referred patients directly. You can schedule your Step 1 visit online through this page or by calling or texting 877-511-5166.
02Does insurance cover the Step 1 visit?+
HHC does not accept insurance directly. We provide a detailed superbill after each visit for out-of-network reimbursement submission. HeartWell Toolkit testing and physician services are often eligible for FSA and HSA reimbursement — check with your plan.
03What should I bring or prepare?+
We recommend completing a HeartWell Toolkit at-home test before your visit so Dr. Druz can review your results in real time. Also helpful: any prior blood work, a list of current medications and supplements, cardiac imaging or stress test reports, and your family cardiac history.
04Is this visit virtual or in person?+
The Step 1 visit is available virtually via telehealth. We'll confirm the details when you book.
05How is this different from an annual physical?+
A standard annual physical checks a limited set of basic vital signs and labs — designed to detect disease that's already present. Your Step 1 Explore visit is a deep, focused cardiovascular evaluation that integrates your complete history, prior testing, medications, supplements, nutrition, and HeartWell Toolkit data to build a personalized risk profile and care plan. It takes far more time and produces far more actionable information.
