◆ GROUP PROGRAM · 12-WEEK COHORT

GLP-1 works best with structure. This is the structure.

A structured group program for patients on GLP-1 therapy and those pursuing metabolic optimization — combining physician oversight, nutritionist coaching, and behavioral science.

GLP-1 medications like semaglutide (Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Zepbound) are powerful — but the evidence is clear: they work best paired with structured nutritional and behavioral support. This 12-week group program maximizes the benefits of GLP-1 therapy, protects lean muscle mass, improves metabolic flexibility, and builds the dietary habits that sustain results long after pharmacotherapy ends. Led by Dr. Druz and the HHC clinical team — medical supervision, registered-nutritionist coaching, and functional-medicine nursing support, in a cohort that combines accountability with clinical rigor.

Who this program is for

  • Patients currently on GLP-1 agonist therapy (semaglutide/Wegovy, tirzepatide/Zepbound)
  • Patients preparing to start or considering GLP-1 therapy
  • Patients wishing to taper off GLP-1 agonist medications, especially with side-effects
  • Patients with metabolic syndrome, obesity, prediabetes, or cardiovascular risk factors
  • Patients wishing to establish a strong nutritional and lifestyle foundation alongside or after pharmacotherapy

Program tools & devices

Lumen Device

Measures respiratory exchange ratio to assess metabolic flexibility and fuel usage (fat vs. carbohydrate). Used daily to guide dietary timing.

Smart Scale

Weekly weigh-ins under consistent morning conditions to track body-weight trends throughout the 12 weeks.

Symptom & Side-Effect Log

Tracks GLP-1 tolerability, hydration, energy, and appetite weekly throughout the program.

Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM)

Optional — recommended for prediabetes or metabolic syndrome for real-time feedback on dietary choices.

Expected outcomes

  • Clinically meaningful weight loss (targeting ≥10% total body weight)
  • Reduction in visceral and pericardial fat
  • Improvement in HbA1c, fasting glucose, and lipid profile
  • Improved metabolic flexibility (measurable via Lumen respiratory exchange ratio)
  • Preservation of lean muscle mass through protein optimization and resistance training
  • Reduction in systemic inflammation
  • Improved cardiovascular risk-factor profile, including blood pressure and triglycerides
  • Sustainable dietary habits designed to maintain results after pharmacotherapy
Coordination of care

This program complements, not replaces, your primary cardiologist, electrophysiologist, or PCP. All significan’t changes in weight, medications, cardiac symptoms, or metabolic markers are communicated to your care team. Patients with cardiac conditions — including atrial fibrillation, heart failure, or history of stroke — are monitored with particular attention to hydration, electrolyte balance, and medication interactions throughout the program.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The 12-Week Metabolic Program, answered.

01Do I need to be on GLP-1 medication to join this program?+
No. The program is open to patients on GLP-1 therapy and to patients pursuing metabolic optimization through nutrition and lifestyle alone. It focuses on your metabolic flexibility, body composition, and dietary foundation to support weight and metabolic health.
02What is the Fasting Mimicking Diet (FMD) and is it safe for cardiac patients?+
The FMD is a 5-day plant-based, calorie-restricted protocol that activates fasting biology while still allowing food. Monthly FMD cycles have been shown to reduce body weight, decrease total and trunk fat, and improve glycemic markers. The program includes two FMD cycles (Weeks 5 and 9) with pre-briefs from the nursing team. Cardiac patients are monitored for hydration and electrolyte balance during cycles.
03What is a Lumen device and do I need one?+
Lumen is a handheld metabolic analyzer that measures your respiratory exchange ratio — whether your body is burning fat or carbohydrate as fuel. It’s a core tool for tracking metabolic flexibility. Lumen devices are recommended but not required; the cost is not included in the program fee.
04How is this different from the individual Fit in Your GENES® program?+
The group metabolic program is a structured, cohort-based 12-week program focused specifically on metabolic health, GLP-1 support, and weight management, delivered in a group format with shared office hours. Fit in Your GENES® is a personalized one-on-one precision-medicine program with individualized protocols, broader clinical scope, and flexible 90-day or 12-month enrollment. Some patients participate in both.
