01How is this different from the Step 1: Explore visit?+
The Step 1: Explore visit is designed for patients beginning their HHC journey — starting with your history and a HeartWell Toolkit and building forward from there. The Second Opinion visit is for patients who already have substantial testing completed and need an expert to interpret, synthesize, and coordinate that data. If you have done extensive functional medicine or longevity testing elsewhere and want Dr. Druz’s cardiovascular perspective on what it all means, the Second Opinion is the right starting point.
02What types of records and tests can Dr. Druz review?+
Dr. Druz can review essentially any medical records you provide — standard bloodwork, advanced lipid panels, functional medicine labs, genetic and genomic testing, longevity biomarker panels, cardiac imaging reports, echocardiograms, prior specialist notes, and more. The more complete the record you submit, the more comprehensive and actionable the review will be.
03Why is this visit conducted virtually?+
The Second Opinion visit centers on the review and synthesis of your existing records and test data — work that Dr. Druz does in depth before your visit begins. Because the value is in the advance review and consultation rather than in-person examination, virtual delivery is the ideal format. It also makes this visit accessible to patients nationwide who cannot travel to New York locations.
04Can I do this if I live outside New York?+
Yes. The Second Opinion visit is entirely virtual and available to patients anywhere in the United States. It was specifically designed to extend access to Dr. Druz’s integrative cardiology expertise beyond the New York area.
05What happens after the Second Opinion visit?+
You receive a written summary of Dr. Druz’s findings and specific recommendations within a few days. Many patients choose to continue their care with HHC following the Second Opinion — transitioning into a Fit in Your GENES® program or scheduling targeted services based on the gaps identified. This transition is discussed during your consultation and supported by our team.
06Do I need to have done HeartWell Toolkit testing first?+
No. The Second Opinion is specifically designed for patients who have already done significant testing elsewhere. However, Dr. Druz may identify gaps in your existing panels during the review and recommend specific testing as part of your next steps.
